OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  • TOOL CLAMPING - With the quill lever, raise quill to top stop - hold there. Insert tool holder into spindle, then swiftly lower quill past point of resistance. (one inch or more).
  • TOOL RELEASING - Stop spindle rotation. Hold tool holder with left hand and with the quill lever raise quill to top stop, ejecting tool. If  quill is used at top stop, lower quill one inch then raise quill ejecting tool. If tool holder is locked in taper, tap to eject.
  • RELEASE RANGE ADJUSTMENT - Clamp tool holder and lower quill one inch or more. Slowly raise quill until contact is felt. Quill stop should be at 1/4" from top stop (10). If adjustment is needed, lower quill, loosen lock ring (12), and adjust sensor (11) to 1/4". LOWER QUILL BEFORE EACH SENSOR (11) ADJUSTMENT ONE INCH. Repeat until 1/4" setting is achieved. Tighten lock ring (12).
  • AUTOMATIC PROTECTOR - The automatic protector allows tool change only when spindle rotation stops and sensor knob (8) is in the "out" position (verticle slot). To prevent tool changes, raise quill to top stop with spindle rotating. Rotate sensor knob (8) to the "in" position (horizontal Slot).
  • RADIAL LOCATION KEY - To use, insert and rotate tool holder until key snaps into keyway in the tool holder, then follow through with clamping.
